***INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES***

WHAT: ACCESSIBILITY BANDITS POST-IT NOTES CAMPAIGN AT YORK.

Based on the idea presented by Toronto’s own Accessibility Bandits, Access
York’s Disability Education and Awareness subcommttee is organizing a similar
event at York.

Access York members will be putting post-it notes on places where we notice any
Disability Barriers. And we want YOU to do the same!!

so here’s the process:

1-get some Accessibility Bandit post it notes- some of these are circulating
among your peers, so ask your classmates in CDS. We are asking for more and
will let you know where and when to get them once we have them.

2- Find Barrier, write up note and post it on the barrier- you can be creative
with the post it note

3- take a picture with your smart phone and post it to FB group!

So, take a break from essays and end of semester work to snap a few pics about
the accessibility stuff you see every day and that makes you go : Grrr!

Did I mention there will be prizes!???

We will display these pictures in a slide show on December 3rd in Vari Hall,
York University. We will also invite persons to find their own accessible
barriers and snap pictures to win a prize!!!

These Accessible ticket post-its can be made available to you on Dec. 3rd in
Vari Hall on the day of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities

The FaceBook group, is organized by Access York Disability Education and
Awareness Subcommittee and the YFS Access Centre.

So join us in celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by
inviting participants to take pictures of accessibility barriers around York
University campus!!!
